The Board meets quarterly to discuss financial and operational matters as well as strategic issues to ensure the smooth running and long term sustainability of Health Exchange in relation to its mission.

Mark Wilson joined Health Exchange as Interim Chief Executive Officer in May 2022 to provide strategic advice and support through the consultancy business Becadia Consulting. He is an experienced leader of complex international health, development and humanitarian organizations; with a particular expertise in strategy, communications, international operations and governance. Between 2012 and 2021 he was CEO of Cochrane, the world’s leading producer of synthesized healthcare evidence published in the Cochrane Library, where he led the transformation and growth of an organization that now contains 118,000 members and supporters from 139 countries. Previously, he was Executive Director of Panos London and led a global network of ‘Communication for Development’ Institutes aiming to ensure information is effectively used to empower communities in the Global South and foster public debate, pluralism and democracy; and before that he spent 11 years with the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, where he was a member of the Senior Management Team after leading humanitarian operations in Mozambique and the Balkans. He is a member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs and the International Institute for Strategic Studies, and a Fellow of the UK’s Chartered Management Institute
